Images --- Aarrgghhh!

Uploading was only slightly difficult, due to instructions apparently written by a non-intuitive, but the aarrgghhhiness resulted from uploading an animated image. Unbeknownst to me, this venue does not support animated images. Sounds as if it wouldn't be seen, yes? No! It was seen, but not movable, nor (without much ado) removable.

For about two hours today, my CyberDabbler header contained a really cute little blue alien, plus 'CyberDabbler' shoved to the side and crumpled. After a search of the help center for the topic 'remove image' I discovered that I needed to find the html entry for my image and remove it. Having had a modicum of experience with html, I clicked on the 'Edit HTML' sub-tab under the 'Template' tab and commenced my search. Not there. Finally figured out how to delete my header ('Template' tab, 'Edit' header, 'Remove Page Element'} and readded it ('Template' tab, then 'Add a Page Element,' and choose 'Header'), but then it was in the wrong spot. In desperation, I seized it with my mouse and shoved it up to the top where it belonged. Presto! It did as it was told, and I'm back in working order. Internet Safety

I have always used a pseudonym on any site and any e-list that even remotely concern me about security issues. My view is that using a pseudonym is a great way to protect against having your identity stolen or being stalked.

Learning

Not able to view video at reference desk :o}, so I'll check it out at home. My learning style(s), though, is a mixture of visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. My favorite learning experiences usually begin with a mentor giving a demonstration (mixed media--auditory and visual), accompanied by a printed set of instructions, followed by my first solo attempt, with frequent reference to the instructions.

I hate to write. It seems so pointless. Even as I type the first letter, I'm thinking about another topic. Nonetheless, I'm participating in the iHCPL project ihcpl.blogspot.com, so here is my first post as CyberDabbler.
